The capital city is Lusaka, situated in the south-central part of the country. The bordering countries are the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Malawi to the east, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and Mozambique to the south, Angola to the west, and Tanzania to the north-east. The Republic of Zambia is a surrounded by land country in Southern Africa. The inhabitants are concerted mostly around the Copperbelt to the northwest and the Lusaka in the south.

Each province is subdivided into a number of districts with a grand whole of 72 districts. Each administered by a selected deputy minister, Zambia is alienated into nine provinces.

Zambia was slowly captured and engaged by the British as protectorate of Northern Rhodesia towards the end of the nineteenth century, after intermittent visits through European explorers initial in the 18th century. Zambia has been populated for thousands of years by migrating ethnic group and hunter-gatherers.

The inhabitants include about 72 ethnic groups, the majority of which are Bantu-speaking.
